Progress on increasing capacity of interconnectors

Summary

Assessment of interconnectors in GB

Interconnectors can provide the means to import electricity when GB supplies are short, and to export excess electricity.

Plans to increase interconnector capacity anticipate a total capacity of up to over 27 GW by 2050.

Progress is currently in line with the FES 2020 Five Year Forecast.
